It’s pretty sad that once the trending condolences come down the pike, we have to check the validity as the tactless joke has been on repeat all year. The newest victim? Madonna. Only this faux death is being put on specifically by Lady Gaga fans in a twisted pop diva worshipper’s war.
It appears the ‘little monsters’ have been typing away about Madonna’s demise since a derogatory news report. What started out as a Gaga impersonation of the icon, and should have been viewed as imitation being the highest form of flattery, turned into the first shots fired in this war. Tweets like ‘RIP Madonna. She ain’t dead but her career is’ are pouring in by the second and there’s a commonality between the Twitter handles, they all have Gaga in their name.
We advise those waging bets on her retirement to wait a while or prepare to pony up as Madonna has announced a 2012 world tour ending in Miami, FL as well as ‘W.E’, her sophomore directorial project is gaining in enthusiasm and positive reviews. Perhaps Lady Gaga fans are simply lashing out in envy that their queen couldn’t be seen at the Superbowl 46 or the 54th Grammy Awards.
