WB’s Superman Anthology arrives with lots of extras and in Blu-Ray style

You may randomly ask yourself, whatever became of Brandon Routh (he used to be Superman, and good at it too)? But the red-caped crusader lives on.

In a year marked by theatrical releases of  major superhero films including Warner Bros.’ Green Lantern, Superman returns, er, again, and in superhero style too.

Warner Home Video ads serious muscles to the whole superhero themed year with their Blu-ray release of Superman: The Motion Picture Anthology (1978-2006) on June 7 for the first time.

Here’s what you get:

The Superman films starring, the real deal, Christopher Reeve (available for the first time in Hi-Def),

Christopher Reeve (L) and Brandon Routh (R), the two best Supermen of our times

Superman Returns (starring Routh, and we say it again, he was excellent in it), plus the two alternate versions of Superman I and Superman II (starring the incomparable Reeve).

The Extras: The Collection also comes with 20 hours of bonus features, such as: the never-before-seen original opening to Superman Returns, two documentaries: Look, Up in the Sky! The Amazing Story of Superman and The Science of Superman, in Hi-def too ofcourse; as well as You Will Believe: The Cinematic Saga of Superman, in addition to deleted scenes.

The Extra-extra: Get some Movie Cash. Up to $8 off one admission ticket to see the newest WB’s, Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively at participating theaters between June 17, 2011 – July 3, 2011.
