Ok, so we are kinda’ rooting for this movie. Early numbers for Tron: Legacy are in. The Disney sci-fi grossed a good $3.5 million in midnight shows, with 228 Imax screens across the U.S. providing $1 million of that gross.
These numbers could shift upwards once final totals come in, especially since several theaters in South Atlantic states could not run the film because of heavy snow.
Tron Legacy out-grossed Inception, which earned $3 million at its late night shows, and tied with Avatar at $3.5 million.
