In October 2010 report by Screen Crave, there were talks about Irish actor Colin Farrell possibly starring in the remake of sci-fi classic Total Recall – made in 1990 starring Arnold Schwarzeneggar. Now confirmed, looks like Farrell is ready to take the lead in this new version, based on a story by Philip K. Dick.
‘Total Recall’ starring Colin Farrell? Yes!
In Collider’s most recent chat with both Farrell and producer Neal Moritz, shed a little light on what fans can expect from the remake. Farrell promised the script to be “cool” and “smart.”
And…? Tell us more, Colin!
“It’s clever and it’s well written. And there’s loads of action. I saw some of pre-visualizations already, that have been done for the world that they’re going to create and it’s wicked man.” Said the actor, remaining tight-lipped about details.
However, a bombshell was dropped by producer Moritz, about the type of the world we can expect to see on the big screen. You ready? They’re not going into space! What does this mean?
“I think the world that Len Wiseman is creating is incredible. It’s a real world, a real future world, where the cities have just gotten so overcrowded that the cities are just built up, up, up, up… We’re playing it like a real world, but there’s all these technological advancements to the real world, and it’s just really, it’s cool. It’s an awesome movie.”…there’s something that takes us from one side of the planet to another that’s really interesting.” Defended Moritz, and that’s all that was said.
BNH asks: without comparing him to Arnie in the original movie, what do you think of Colin Farrell for this film?
