Tom Cruise reveals his inner headbanger

Tom Cruise tweets from the set. In the photo, the 48 year-old actor is shirtless and rocking out, as fictional heavy metal vocalist Stacee Jaxx, during the production of “Rock of Ages.”

On Saturday, Tom and wife Katie Holmes attended the Rock of Ages cast party at Larios on the Beach in Miami Beach, Fla. They were joined by the film’s director Adam Shankman and co-stars Julianne Hough, Malin Akerman, and Diego Boneta.

The Fort Lauderdale set of the ‘Ages’, in Himmarshee Village area, had its controversy where photographers were prohibited to take pictures and protest signs that read: “No trespassing.”

In return, the city faced a lawsuit brought by SouthFloridaGayNews.com and the Society of Professional Journalists. The Gay South Florida blog claimed that photographers’ constitutional rights were being violated by the ban.

Over the weekend, the photographers were finally able to snap photos of filmmaker Shankman, and actors Malin Akerman, Paul Giamatti, and a few others, but not any of Tom.

However, after seeing the tweeted photo by Tom himself, we can now understand why he has been hiding inside a covered golf cart while on the set, and why he has kept his inner rock-god a secret. Just look at him: the long hair, the tatts, his “top guns” (and we mean the arms), and a rock ‘n roll attitude.

Before signing on for the role, Tom did his research months ago by attending the Live performance of the show at the Pantages theater in Hollywood. And guess what, he gets to cover Bon Jovi’s 80’s mega hit “Wanted dead or alive.”

The A-list cast also include: Alec Baldwin, Amy Adams, Russell Brand, Mary J. Bleige, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
