Britain’s favorite quartet of hapless lads are back on the silver screen. The Inbetweeners 2 takes Jay, Simon, Neil and Will overseas to Australia for another boozy, skirt-chasing series of misadventures, and homegrown audiences are eating it up. The smash-hit sequel was released to “record-breaking success, receiving the biggest ever opening day for a comedy at the U.K. box office,” reports The Telegraph. But, unfortunately for their U.S. fans, there are no plans to release it Stateside.
The original film, a spinoff from the hit television series created by Damon Beesley and Iain Morris, was released in 2011 and quickly hit blockbuster status on the big screen, which prompted a modest U.S. release. Brave New Hollywood was invited to sit down and chat with stars Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas about the film. For this morning’s BNH Flashback, we’re revisiting that conversation to tide you over until the sequel turns up Stateside.
