…so far. That is, Ms. Deborah Ann Woll, the va-va-voom red headed vampire on HBO’S “True Blood,” who gets a guy’s blood flowing on…and off screen. And, with her appearance in another indie film “Are We Officially Dating” with co-star Zac Efron, she is amassing enough credits to be now called “an indie darling’’—a short step from becoming America’s darling…not counting Honey Boo-Boo of course.
Let’s just hope that “Are We Officially Dating” becomes a hit and hope that she doesn’t make the choices Zac Efron has made in some of his film roles. Perhaps picking bad roles is like picking bad drugs: it can get addictive! Let’s hope that Zac goes to a “Film Picking Rehab Clinic” and is cured because among the many rising stars of Hollywood, he seems poised to rise above the others…and rise to the occasion.
The proof is he has bounced back from disastrous flicks. After all, in 2011, Zac chose “New Year’ Eve” (which won Zac and the rest of the cast a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Screen Ensemble”). Then, this year, it was “The Lucky One.” This drek only might prove that Lindsay Lohan spends more time picking out what she’ll drink that day, than Zac did in choosing these two roles.
But then again–Zac still has youth as a “career excuse” and he did choose to work with festival darling Ramin (director of the Zac vehicle“At Any Price”) Bahrani. Time is still on Zac’s side; and yes, sometimes Hollywood stars don’t bloom overnight. EXHIBIT A: John Wayne wasn’t even almost famous before he became famous. He was a star of awful Z-Westerns and 32 years old when he became a name in 1939’s “Stagecoach.”
But enough about “him.” Let’s get to “her.”
What’s even more impressive about Ms. Woll is in countless interviews, she shows herself to be a real human being! The proof: she sticks with her boyfriend, comedian, EJ Scott, even though he is afflicted with choroideremia; which is a condition that slowly blinds its victim. Talk about a bad break—Mr. Scott must be thinking, “Great. It’s taken me years and years but I finally get a super hot, intelligent chick, and in time, I won’t be able to even see her! There is no GOD!!!”
But hopefully, there always will be news of a soon-to-be released Deborah Ann Woll film.
