Okay, so Emmy-nominee Neil Patrick Harris plays the perfect self-absorbed womanizer on the sitcom “How I Met Your Mother,” and he just wrapped a cameo in the upcoming “Harold & Kumar” threequel, playing an amped-up version of himself. He can host an awards show with aplomb, he’s a darned talented amateur magician, and he’s a hunky guy in a stable, long-term relationship with another hunky guy. Feeling inadequate yet? On top of his many other projects, Harris has directed a new production of the musical “Rent” which will play three days starting this Friday at the Hollywood Bowl. Among the featured performers: Wayne Brady, “High School Musical” starlet Vanessa Hudgens, Broadway hunk Aaron Tveit and the Pussycat Dolls’ lead kitty Nicole Scherzinger. “I must have been a vaudevillian in a previous incarnation,” Harris told the “Los Angeles Times” this week. Or perhaps a Tasmanian Devil…?
