With the Twilight Saga wrapping up its final chapter, this summer, MTV‘s “Teen Wolf” is aiming to take a “bite” (no, we didn’t) out of TV’s wolfpacked, supernatural shows. Set to premiere on Sunday, June 5, right after the MTV Movie Awards, the show, based on the 80’s movies of the same name which starred Michael J. Fox, then Jason Bateman in the sequel, looks hip and MTV-sexy; and not s campy as the originating movies.
Tyler Posey stars as high school jock, Scott McCall, who notices changes in his physique and behavior after being bitten by a wolf. MTV has done a good job teasing the audience by showing just enough to hook the viewer, but smart enough to keep the rest hidden.
Also appearing in the series is Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, playing the role of a seasoned werewolf, a caretaker of sorts – they all need one. Crystal Reed is Scott’s love interest whose father happens to be, say it isn’t so, a werewolf hunter – Drama! Couldn’t he have been the town’s pharmacist? Colton Haynes stars as the mean jock, teammate on Scott’s sports team.
