Marvel Studios announcedtoday that Dominic Cooper and Tommy Lee Jones join the cast of Captain America. Slated for a July 2011 release the film adaptation of the classic Marvel comic will star Chris Evans as Captain America. Cooper will portray a younger version of Howard Stark (father of Tony Stark), the character played by John Slattery in IRON MAN 2. Directed by Joe Johnston the film will be written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely. Also on board is Tommy Lee Jones as Colonel Chester Phillips, who snatches Steve Rogers (Evans) to work on a top secret military project. CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER circles around the early days in the life of Steve Rogers who then volunteers to participate in a defense department experimental program that turns him into Captain America.
