In 2006, photographer Mario Testino booked this young man for a Burberry shoot, on the spot, after he saw him walking by on a street. Little did his new subject know, he will be posing with the iconic Kate Moss – and little the photographer knew, his unknown, must-be-made-famous discovery is actually the son of the very famous Jeremy Irons and Irish actress Sinead Cusack.
The Chosen Man: Max Irons, handpicked by director Catherine Hardwicke (‘Twilight’) to star opposite Amanda Seyfried in the upcoming Red Riding Hood.
Meet Max Irons (born Maximilian Paul Diarmuid Irons) age 25, and handpicked by director Catherine Hardwicke (‘Twilight’) to star opposite Amanda Seyfried in the upcoming Red Riding Hood. To marry Valerie (Seyfried), Max plays the perfect man, chosen by her parents. “He’s 6’3″, drop-dead gorgeous, and has this crazy magnetism,” says director Hardwicke about her first impression. Knowing it was the same Catherine Hardwick that launched the careers of Robert Pattinson (for ‘Twilight’) and Emille Hirsh (for ‘Lords of Dogtown’), is safe to say the filmmaker knows how to pick fresh-faced leading men. However, Max’s parents have warned him about a career in Hollywood: “They immediately said, ‘you will most likely have a life of unhappiness, financial turmoil, jealousy, and paranoia,'” recalls the young actor, in this month’s ELLE magazine.
