Rising star Erin Cummings is having a very good year. She played Ginny Sadller in ABC’s Pan Am. You have seen her in STARZ network Spartacus as Sura. Now She’s starring in her own TV show on CBS, with a supporting role in a buzz-worthy indie drama waiting in the wings. The gorgeous Texan is on a hot streak right now, so try and get her to purchase a Super Lotto ticket for you if you can.
Made in Jersey arrives on a wave of popularity in the reality television for all things Garden State—The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jerseylicious, The Jersey Shore, et. al. Cummings plays a Jersey-born lawyer whose uncouth family constantly interferes with her work at an upscale Manhattan firm and its posh clients.
While audiences get to know her on the small screen, The Iceman, in which she has a small role, is currently making the festival circuit rounds. It recently played the Toronto, Telluride and Venice film festivals, where it polarized critics and audiences.
The Hollywood Reporter called it “a vivid evocation of a remorseless sociopath” and praised the entire cast, while other critics were more measured in their assessment. That’s to be expected given the subject matter.

Chris Evans, one of Brave New Hollywood’s favorite matinee idols, stepped in at the last minute to play a key role when the perpetually overscheduled James Franco dropped out (he ended up in a cameo). Evans and director Ariel Vromen are old buddies.
In a sharp departure from his onscreen heroics as The Human Torch and Captain America, Evans plays Robert Pronge, mentor to Richard Kuklinski, a contract killer for the mob—known as “The Iceman”—with the latter role filled by Oscar nominee Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road).
The script was adapted from the nonfiction book by Anthony Bruno. Costars include Stephen Dorff, Winona Ryder and David Schwimmer. In the meantime, Made in Jersey airs Fridays on CBS.
