When you look like an Abercrombie & Fitch ad, relatability can be a challenge. Double that when you’re linked romantically to beauties like Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Debbie Ryan. And then there’s the 21st birthday party where you shared the floor at Vegas’ hottest hang space, Chateau, with Barry Manilow and a thousand other beautiful barflies.

That makes Lucas Till an even more pleasant surprise. For most, the “oh, yeah” factor comes with recognizing him as the embodiment of the young Havok (Alex Summers) in Fox’s summer blockbuster “X-Men: First Class”. For those “lucky” enough to be halfway-sucked by the Hannah Montana vortex, you’ll also know him as the cowboy who channels the spirit of a young Robert Redfordto steal the starlet’s heart in her oh-so-creatively (a-hem) titled movie.

(Hm…fondness for themes of dual personality; eh, Lucas?)

The irony is, Till is more like a humble Clark Kent than a building-jumping Kal-El. He readily admits that growing up in the South as a military kid, he was obsessed by video games like the rest of us, and dreamed of being a character in one of them someday.

At his virgin trip to Comic-Con, he spoke openly about feeling like he walked the San Diego Convention Center in a fantasy, before rattling off his favorite video games then citing Batman as his favorite superhero because the guy’s “powers” are self-made.

Even when the dream-come-true part started to happen for him, getting cast as a hard-core marine in “Battle: Los Angeles”, Till returned to the roots he knew, enduring a three-week Marine Corps boot camp simulation. The sick thing is: he loved every minute of it. We told you the guy’s a little different. Turns out the training was a perfect prep for the body definition he had to carve for the “X-Men” role—and will serve him well in yet another turn as a superhero in a creative twist on the genre in “Vs”: produced by his own production company, Grindfist.

His co-founder and friend, Jason Trost, directs him in Grindfist’s second release, “Vacation 8” (also scripted by Trost, and costumed by Jason’s sister, Sarah: a psycho-thriller that looks a lot like Matrix-Goes-to-Paradise—not such a bad thing, if they could find a way to work in some sexy black trenches. (Hear that, Sarah? Sexy black trenches, GF!)

Somewhere between all that, Till has also found time to sharpen his dramatic indie chops, signing on to star with Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowska and Dermot Mulroney in the gloomy thriller “Stoker”. But don’t go thinking Till’s forgotten his Clark Kent threads just yet. We also hear he’s pretty good at “Angry Birds”. Whew. For Lucas Till’s official website, CLICK HERE.
