The operation that resulted in killing Osama Bin Laden seems to be getting the Hollywood treatment almost overnight. According to Variety, Oscar-winning director Kathryn Bigelow (“The Hurt Locker”) is gearing up to do a film about the Navy Seal team who successfully targeted and killed the Al-Qaeda mastermind, and the plot-boss behind the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.
With her “Hurt Locker” screenwriting partner, Mark Boal, Bigelow had been writing a script about the search for the world’s enemy # 1. Now, they will rewrite the script to include details about the operation and the raid over Bin Laden’s residence in Pakistan, where he was shot and executed on-site.
With casting to be put in motion, at any minute, filming is expected to begin this summer.
Will you watch? What details would you like reveled in the film, about the raid?
