Ozzy Osbourne is slowly catching on and, shall we say, contracting Bieber Fever! It’s all about this sci-fi team up for a new TV commercial, reports the Daily Mail, when the gen next hero Bieber, and gen “old” legend, Ozzy were seen together.
OK, the jokes are way too easy for this one. We don’t really get what they are just yet. So, we’re not even gonna ask if Justin’s hair will have Rapunzel like super powers or if Ozzy has to actually run as a part of his superhero duties.
Anyway, let’s just say, the legendary rocker and famous TV dad has teamed up with pop phenom Justin Bieber for a futuristic TV commercial which will be aired during this year’s Superbowl. Best Buy is the retailer securing the 16-year-old pop idol to the tune of over $1 million dollars.
Dressed in their futuristic black and gray jumpsuits, the prince of darkness and the prince of pop shook hands as they met on the set of their TV commercial at Universal Studios, earlier in January.
Style and grooming note: Justin’s recent haircut, as seen at the Golden Globes Awards on January 16, happened after this TV shoot.
Ozzy received a collective cheer from music fans for his ignorance about Bieber when he appeared ‘A Different Spin’ TV show hosted by Mark Hoppus of Blink 182. When asked if he listens to ‘much Justin Bieber’ the 62-year-old rocker replied: “Who the f*** is Justin Bieber?”
However, it looks like the big guys at Best Buy are betting on the polar opposites appeal of the two super stars, and hope to cash in by targeting a wide audience of old(er) and the new, changing the superstores’ image from a TV retailing chain to sellers of mobile phones and new tech gadgetry.
The average 30-second commercial during the Superbowl cost about $3 million, last year, and that doesn’t even include production cost.
The company’s marketing executive Drew Panayiotou said: “We’re delighted to have Justin and Ozzy helps us tell the Best Buy story. We know people have high expectations for these ads and Justin and Ozzy add a whole new dimension of fun.”
The details about the commercial are pretty much a well kept secret, but insiders believe it will air during the third quarter of the game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Green Bay Packers on February 6.
Sharon Osbourne also made a quick cameo in the commercial, met Bieber, and posed for photos.
