SundanceNow is all about the Indie film streaming

"The Ledge" movie poster (IFC Films)

Attention real film lovers! A new way to stay by the computer and watch an indie flick in your boxers…, or heck,  make some popcorn, get dressed up and make it a stay-home event. No need to drive across town (not with these gas prices) to that one theatre that plays a couple of  Independent films.

The folks at SundanceNow are here to save the day. These guys claim that the idea came from not finding destinations where film fans could locate a wide range of truly indie films to watch instantly, and legally. Uh, how do you say, Netflix? But does Netflix have the big Indie variety as SundanceNow? Why don’t you find out, and report back to us?

Don’t get us wrong, Netflix is all good. But for that specific, perhaps sophisticated, or down-right wacky taste in films, we love ourselves some  SundanceNow. These guys are your one-stop Independent film streaming place.

For example, take this movie recommended by us here at BNH: “The Ledge” starring Charlie Hunnam (from FX’s “Sons of Anarchy”), Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson. On SundanceNow you can watch this Cannes selected thriller about a man ready to jump off a building to end his life (for many a complicated reasons). Available for 2 weeks only, you can stream and watch it – that’s before it hits theatres on July 8, or is uploaded for Video On Demand (VOD).

For you commitment-phobes, there is no subscription necessary and new films are added every week.

There! Now you know.
