“The Greatest Movie Ever Sold,” Morgan Spurlock‘s documentary about product placement has found a buyer, says The Hollywood Reporter. Sony Pictures Classics bought the picture and they are planning on releasing the film in April.
The film premieres this Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival. ‘Sold’ explores the influence of brands and sponsorships in our lives. Infact, the movie itself was financed with product placement.
Spurlock’s self-starring documentary “Super Size Me,” (2004) about fast food culture (mainly McDonad’s) was a festival favorite and a surprise hit.
Before aiming cameras at marketing-culture, Spurlock, served as a producer on “What Would Jesus Buy?” a documentary about commercializing Christmas.
