Enrique Iglesias wrote the Jersey Shore song in 5 minutes!?

Yep, That’s what the singer confessed to MTV News, explaining that ‘I Like It’ actually a two-year-old song (featured on the Jersey Shore soundtrack), almost didn’t make the it on the album.

“It’s a song I wrote with [producer/songwriter] RedOne. We wrote it in my house, where actually we wrote a lot of [Euphoria], and it was done two years ago exactly,” Enrique explained. “I always believed in it. I always thought it was special. I thought it was fun. I thought it wasn’t over-thought. It’s one of those songs you write in five minutes; I guess that’s how a lot of them come about. It’s scary when you think about it because it could have never gone out there.”

Worry not. The JS soundtrack is realease today July 20, 2010. “It could have gotten lost, and fortunately Universal Republic believed in it and they put it out,” the singer said of his label green-lighting the track that also appears on his Euphoria.

Other artists featured on the Shore Soundtrack include Lil Jon, LMFAO, Taio Cruz and Akon.
