‘Anchorman’ sequel is a no go.

The highly anticipated sequel to one of Will Ferrell’s most popular films is just not going to happen.  The original 2004 comedy featured Ferrell as a bumbling San Diego TV reporter alongside his girlfriend and rival played by Christina Applegate, in the one and only “Anchor Man: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.” Writer/director Adam McKay says he had been going back and forth with Paramount, trimmed the budget and in the end, the studio has given the film the boot. McKay tweeted that he was “so bummed” at the news.  McKay worked hard to make it happen and even got co-stars Steve Carrell and Paul Rudd to return for the sequel agreeing to accept reduced salaries.  Sounds like McKay is seeking the help of the public to put pressure on Paramount to change their minds.  Ya never know, with the power of social media these days anything is possible.  Just ask Betty White, host of this weekend’s “Saturday Night Live.”  Were it not for a fan page started on Facebook she wouldn’t have even thought about hosting. **BNH asks: Do you want a sequel to ANCHOR MAN??
